Why Mobile Paper Shredding Is Better

If your business is located in New York or New Jersey and you need to hire a professional document shredding service you need to be aware that there are different types of document destruction.  There are two very different types of paper shredding options offered by document destruction companies, mobile onsite shredding and offsite plant-based shredding.  On-site document destruction is simply more convenient and secure than plant-based shredding.

Why Plant-Based Shredding May Not Be For You

A plant-based company will take your documents to an offsite location to destroy them.  The more your documents are moved and handled the more exposed they are to be accessed by someone else.  When a company removes your papers they are not going directly from your location to their facility they are going to many other stops to pick up other firms files.  Every time the truck makes a stop they are opening the truck and inviting the possibility that the driver leaves it open or forgets to lock it not to mention if there is an accident and your documents are thrown around or worse yet ejected from the truck.  Also, when your documents are released to an offsite service you never know when they are shredded.  Is it that day or do they sit in a warehouse for days before they are shredded?  If they are in a warehouse are they under lock and key and who has access to them.  Why have any questions or concerns, play it safe use an on-site shredding service.

On-site Document Destruction- The Right Choice

With on-site shredding all of your papers will be destroyed at your location.  A mobile paper destruction truck pulls up to your location and everything happens there.  A trained technician will place the documents you want destroyed into a bin.  The bin is a large plastic container on wheels with a security top.  After your papers are inside the bin is locked.  The bin will then be taken directly to the truck where the bin is lifted and emptied directly into the shredder by an automated system.  Your documents are immediately destroyed.  If you have more than one bin of records to shred the process continues until all your papers are destroyed.

On-site Shredding Goes Where Your Documents Are

Whether you have your business record stored in the office, at home or in a storage facility and mobile shredding service is able to go wherever your records are.  No need for you to move them they can be destroyed where they are.

With Mobile Shredding You Can Witness Your Documents Being Destroyed

You can actually watch your document being destroyed.  Most mobile companies will invite you to accompany the bin with your papers to the truck so you can witness them being shredded.  If you are wondering how that is possible these high-tech trucks are equipped with a camera system that is connected to a viewing screen on the side of the truck.  One camera is over the shredder so you can see the document going through the industrial cutting blades and the other is in the storage area of the truck where the tiny particles of paper are stored after going through the shredder.   Being able to view the shredding process helps makes people more comfortable.
